Stop Flo

Vaginal bleeding can be a significant hindrance to your every day life, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Stopflo Endometrial Ablation can eliminate or reduce excessive vaginal bleeding and let you regain control of your life.

Improve the Quality of Your Life

Heavy menstrual bleeding is incapacitating, costly to treat, inconvenient, and potentially embarrassing. Previously, we had few alternatives to remedy this problem: endure the tedious situation or succumb to a hysterectomy and suffer through six to eight weeks of recovery time.

And the condition is more prevalent than you may have known -- more than one-third of hysterectomies performed annually treat excessive vaginal bleeding and this problem accounts for one-third of annual gynecological visits.

In addition to heavy bleeding, thousands of women simply do not want to have a monthly period. Biologically, we menstruate to prepare our bodies for conception and pregnancy. If you have made the personal choice to forgo future pregnancies, for any reason, there’s no other biological need for menstruation.

An Easy, Effective Treatment

For most women, excessive vaginal bleeding and monthly periods can be remedied with Stopflo Endometrial Ablation.

Stopflo Endometrial Ablation destroys all or most of the tissue that is responsible for menstrual bleeding (the endometrium). There are several different methods used to perform an endometrial ablation. Methods used depend on the preference of your gynecologist.

Stopflo: How It Works

Stopflo uses advanced, minimally invasive radiofrequency to treat and permanently remove the inner lining of the uterus. Stopflo is a one-time procedure that requires no incisions and typically takes less than an hour under mild sedation in the comfort of a doctor’s office. No hospitals, no surgery, no extended recovery time.

For the procedure, the doctor applies local anesthetic and inserts a small wand into the uterus through the cervix. The wand then delivers energy into the uterus to treat the uterine lining and seal its supply of blood vessels.

After the energy delivery, the doctor removes the wand and the patient typically goes home within an hour. Most patients resume normal activity within one to two days.

*Stopflo should not be considered if a patient desires a future pregnancy. Stopflo is not appropriate for all causes of excessive vaginal bleeding. Stopflo is not a form of contraception.
